Outranked

How It Works

A 1–1000 score. Five pillars, plus a weekly effort overlay. One benchmark: men.

The process

01

Answer questions

Career & Academics is always scored. You choose which of Finances, Gym, and X-Factor to include — bin any or all of them if you'd rather not be scored on them.

02

Get scored

Each pillar is scored out of 100 based on how your answers compare to our reference cohort. Pillars you ranked highest carry the most weight.

03

Log your week

Every week, describe what you did in a few sentences — training, work, uni, whatever happened. We score it as Effort: did you spend the week well?

04

See your rank

Your composite score maps to an Outranked Score between 1 and 1000, plus a percentile showing exactly where you stand.

The 5 pillars

Career & AcademicsSchool, degree, and real-world work — combined.
FinancesSalary band and net worth.
GymBench, squat, deadlift — raw strength.
X-FactorThe thing that makes you different.

The weekly overlay

Effort — 0 to 100.

Effort isn't one of the five pillars — it sits on top of them. Once you're scored, log your week in a few sentences and we turn it into an Effort score: did you spend the week well, not how much you wrote about it.

Your composite blends 80% pillars and 20% effort. Log within the last 7 days to keep that 20% live — let it lapse and effort drops to zero in the blend until your next log.

The score

1–1000

Your Outranked Score compresses your composite — five pillars blended with your weekly effort — into a single number from 1 to 1000. A score of 900+ puts you in the top 10% of the cohort.

Pillar order matters — the pillar you rank #1 carries the most weight in your composite.

The benchmark

Men. Full stop.

Every score is ranked against a reference dataset of men. Your percentile tells you what share of the cohort you outrank — a percentile of 85 means you score higher than 85% of the benchmark.
